Hope to Dream

Providing Beds to Children in Need

Children all over the country are not getting a good night’s sleep. Insufficient sleep can lead to behavioral problems, poor performance in school and health issues. In response to this, we created Hope to Dream.

This program provides beds to deserving children in communities all across the country. Children in need are selected to receive a mattress, bed frame, bedding and a pillow so they can reap the benefits a good night’s sleep can have on their health and overall wellbeing. We also partner with numerous professional and collegiate sports teams and associations to host Hope to Dream events. At these events, children come to the sports facility for food, fun and games. At the end of the event, we surprise each child with their very own bed.

Story of Hope: Camilla

Camilla is a 14-year-old child with special needs. She was born with developmental delays. But, these delays do not stop Camilla from enjoying school and activities with her friends. Camilla and her 4 siblings share a single bedroom in their mother’s apartment. Michelle, Camilla’s mother, spends thousands of dollars a year on therapy and doctor visits, so when it came to beds, the family just rotated sleeping arrangements. Some would sleep on the couch, others would sleep on the floor with a few blankets. This was a hindrance in Camilla’s physical therapy progress.

Camilla’s family was nominated for the Hope to Dream program by a family friend who knew their current sleeping situation. Through Hope to Dream, Ashley donated five beds to the family. Michelle says that it was a turning point in their lives. Camilla and her siblings never pictured having a bed to call their own. Now, it is a possibility for them to get a good night’s rest in a safe space. Michelle says this is the beginning of a brighter future for all of her children. “It would be just a bed for anyone, but it was more than just a bed for us. It was a change of mindset.” Hope to Dream gave Michelle and her family the hope that dreams really can come true.

EVERY CHILD SHOULD HAVE A BED TO CALL THEIR OWN.
